Pavement Overlay Project

The City of Redwood City has contracted with DeSilva Gates Construction for Layout Digs and Spot Reconstruction at Lagoon & Oracle, Bridge Parkway & Quay Lane, as well as Redwood Shores, Shell, & Shearwater Parkways.  Please be patient and aware of lane closures and work equipment in these areas.  This project should be completed in July, but timelines are subject to change with little communication offered.

Show Your Cards on November 13th!

Each year, RSCA provides all homes and businesses in Redwood Shores with a RED/GREEN Disaster Signal Card designed to help emergency responders quickly assess who needs immediate help and who is OK, in a disaster scenario, and for use in drills occasionally.  This year, it was printed in the center page of this PILOT, so you can tear it out and keep it (and hopefully never need the red side). Please keep this card where you can locate it quickly. Also keep tape nearby so that you can quickly put it where it can be seen clearly from the street. This may be in a front window or on your front or garage door depending on the layout of your particular neighborhood. If you need assistance, this card will help get the quickest response. The card should not be displayed year-round.

Emergency Preparedness

Redwood Shores Community Association (RSCA) is dedicated to ensuring that residents and businesses are prepared for emergencies that may arise in our area.

The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Program educates people about disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact their area and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations. Using the training learned in the classroom and during exercises, CERT members can assist others in their neighborhood or workplace following an event when professional responders are not immediately available to help. CERT members also are encouraged to support emergency response agencies by taking a more active role in emergency preparedness projects in their community. Continue reading

After resolving a registered sex offender moving out of Shores Landing in August, RSCA discovered another resident on the sex offender registry in September who subsequently moved several weeks later. Given Shores Landing’s proximity to a childcare center, the recent findings have raised valid questions to the legality of the situations amongst the Shores community – and we put together this guide to help navigate the complexities.
