The Shores Levee Cleanup is a fun community event. As you know from your experience last year, volunteers are assembled into teams and assigned cleanup areas. Family work groups handle their areas at their own pace; all help to keep these bountiful nature trails debris-free.
This is a great opportunity for Redwood City residents (and their friends) to enjoy a beautiful summer morning while experiencing a variety of birds and other wildlife. Volunteer and enjoy the splendor of our seven miles of shoreline, including incredible views of the bay.
We hope you will join us again this year; please bring gloves and wear good walking shoes… all pickup tools and trash bags will be provided. Take pride in enhancing this important Redwood City resource, and join us Saturday, August 24, 8am to noon.
Lunch is on us! As a small ‘thank you’ to our volunteers, a barbeque is sponsored by our friends at the San Mateo Credit Union for all hands. Barbeque will be served at 11:30am in Mariner Park.
Recology Systems Inc. provides the trash collection containers, and their assistance is gratefully acknowledged. Each year large amounts of trash are picked from the Redwood Shores Levee environment by our volunteers and removed by Recology Systems free of charge. Every piece of trash that is eliminated is important!

To acknowledge his faithful community service and leadership, this year’s cleanup is again dedicated to Pete Hughes. Pete organized this valued community initiative from the beginning and gained the continuing support of civic, business, and community leaders who support this public effort with their time and resources.
OUR SUMMER CONCERTS HAS CLOSED FOR THE SEASON — THANKS FOR COMING OUT!
Sundays this Summer, Marlin Park is the place to rock! Join us for the Redwood Shores summer concert series.
RSCA has moved the Sounds of the Shores summer concert series this year to Sunday afternoons, 5-7pm, in Marlin Park, starting June 23rd. We expect more people to be able to join us on Sundays, and the earlier time should help avoid the early evening chill that can cool things off as the sun goes down.

(AT&T’s services program has passed this message along through RSCA about developments of new services and facilities in Redwood Shores. This construction proposal has been discussed in The PILOT and is a matter RSCA encourages the Redwood Shores community to attend this July 23rd meeting if you are interested in or concerned with the AT&T service proposal. This will be residents’ opportunity to ask questions and get answers about these plans.)
What:
AT&T is pleased to announce plans to build a wireless facility right here in Redwood Shores! Our engineers have identified a significant coverage gap in your neighborhood, and Redwood Shores residents have expressed a need for enhanced wireless data and voice services. This cell site will enable residents to enjoy a more robust wireless network, one that will better connect them to the people and information they want, whenever and wherever they are. Wireless connectivity is critical to personal and professional relationships. It is also critical in emergencies: approximately 70% of 911 calls are made with wireless phones.
Where:
AT&T Mobility seeks to improve wireless service from Bridge Parkway on the South side of Redwood Shores, Marin Parkway on the West, Shearwater Parkway on the North, and the coastline waters on Waterside Circle. The proposed cell site will also provide enhanced indoor coverage to the Redwood Shores community.
How:
The proposed cell site will resemble a pine tree, and will be designed to blend into the existing landscape of trees. It will be 70 feet tall, 22 feet wide at its widest point, and will contain 12 antennas. These antennas will provide residents with 4G LTE service, allowing faster downloads of data, more reliable voice calls and more dependable access to emergency services.
Community Meeting:
In order to learn more about the proposed cell site and how it will impact your life and immediate neighborhood, please attend a Community Meeting led by AT&T representatives. The meeting will be held on July 23rd, from 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., at the following location:
AT&T encourages you to attend the meeting to learn more about this exciting innovation, and to find out how you can help make these plans a reality. Please direct questions to Shiyama Clunie, Area Manager, AT&T External Affairs, at .
